I have been a passionate Volunteer since I was 17 including as a Magistrate, Prison & Young Offenders' Institute Visitor, Police Officer, in Crown Court & Schools, on a Alcohol Licensing Committee & Lay Visitor to Police Stations Panel, in a hostel for homeless alcoholics, for Oxfam, on Cancer & Student Helplines, writing for a book, with homeless young people & an Animal Welfare Charity.
I'm a National Media Rep, Public Speaking & Fundraising Volunteer.
A friend nominated me for a National Inspiration Award; winning this made me cry!
I enjoy time with family & friends, being outdoors cycling & long walks.
I love the Arts; theatre, cinema, radio, music, history, museums, exhibitions, & politics (My degree was in Politics). I love to visit National Trust houses, French Conversation, Art History & Wine Tasting classes, my Book Group & watching cricket, rugby & football.
Travel wise, I'm into untouristy; French Battlefields, Bretagne & Uruguayan Summers, nature in the Galapagos, with IFOR in Bosnia, tanks & Landrovers, staying in Barracks & Officers' Mess beers, sailing, scuba diving off St Kildare, staying in a mountain hut & with a Romanian family, boaty stuff; IOW Police flotilla, on my friends' boat & travelling the UK in my Austin Healey with my son & dogs.
If you're into off the beaten track, let's go; I'll pack my bikini. As I haven't skinny dipped in ages, persuade me to do it again.
