There are lovely friends in my life but due to their fitness, finances or their commitments to partners/grandchildren they are not available as companions for my Profile list above!
I am interested in people, places, politics, culture, current affairs, crafts, animals, sports……. Really a wide variety. I love hearing about people’s lives and can chat on about most matters, theirs or mine. I’m a cheerful, enthusiastic and proactive person who can see humour in situations but am actually quite serious-minded. I’m lucky that my fitness level is good, I play tennis, cycle and walk, including long walks/hikes. Having retired some years ago from teaching overseas, I volunteer with various organisations (mainly educational), take part in nature activities and work some hours at a theatre. At home I have some craft-type hobbies, I read, watch mainly iPlayer, and try cryptic crosswords. For this profile I think I’ll keep off my dislikes!

I”m looking for a friend to ‘do’ things with. Such things might be local walks, museum/cultural visits, theatre, music….. Possibly trips to other parts of the UK, or trips to other countries.
A good match would mean we can chat on happily, agreeing on much but not necessarily everything! We would need to be interested in similar activities and being an animal lover would be a big plus.
