About him
Old-school and traditional in my values and ethics. Robust Irish heritage but my spiritual home is Liverpool (I love the city, spent a lot of time there).
I'm kind, caring, completely honest, genuine, trustworthy, thoughtfull, empathetic and very understanding. And completely 'un-blokey'. I don't wear football shirts, drink lager (Stella Artois usually), attach my keys to my belt, or stand in big groups in pubs, swearing loudly and leching at young girls.
I love old, unspoilt pubs, real ale and fine red wine, preferably with intelligent and engaging conversation. Theatre and cinema are unbeatable for a night out. I have a bit of a deviant sense of humour, but I would never do anything that would hurt, upset or offend anyone.
I like to play chess, scrabble and the odd card game, although I have no-one to play with. I love travelling but I haven't had a proper holiday for over 20 years - honestly! I love quizzes, films, live music, writing, day trips and weekends away. But these have all been solo pursuits for a very long time.
I love to swim and walk. Also, you can never have too many good books/novels. I treat others as I like to be treated myself. I'm afraid I don't like dogs but I adore cats, although this isn't a complete deal-breaker.
I have a great fondness for vintage things - clothes, music, films. I'm a great listener and love to find out about people. I believe in good manners and politeness at all times. Can't abide rudeness or bullies.
I'm very laid-back, patient and I don't judge. My photo is recent. I don't have any of me holding a big fish, without a shirt on, or standing next to (someone else's) sports car. Been single since I was 30, I'm very approachable and will reply to anyone who takes the time to message.

Calm, kind, friendly, understanding and intelligent. I don't really have a type - looks are secondary but I would like to meet a girl who takes care of her appearance, is hygienic (!) and dresses well.
Someone like-minded, reliable and sensible who isn't shallow or judgemental and can enjoy intelligent conversation and similar interests to my own. Absolutely no cheats, liars, angry ranting types, nags or people still obsessed with their exes. One strike and you're out!
I believe in compassion, understanding, empathy and togetherness, supporting each other. But also allowing each other space to breathe and do our own things. Complete trust in a relationship is paramount for me. Without that, I think you're screwed really.
And not anyone who is addicted to social media and broadcasts their entire life to the world. I believe in a large degree of privacy. Same goes for those who are constantly glued to their mobiles.
Don't live your life online - it's a waste of all the wonderful things around us the that the real world has to offer - so much natural beauty!
It's really difficult to describe an ideal match. I think I will know when and if they come along. Ladies who love books, theatre, music, cats, travel, laughter and cooking together as a couple are especially welcome.
